blueing judgement
how do you judge the % of blueing on a gun that was blued using the "browning" method where even a new gun has a grey appearence?
does nobody know? or is this really simple and im jus retarded?

basically just like any other gun. you look for wear on the high spots and where function has marked the edges where metal meets metal.

Just a thought but browning shoul be "brown" if it is grey and the seller states it was because it was browned i would suspect that it started life as a blued gun this finish was worn and then someone tried to "COLD BLUE the gun this gives a grey splotchy look and smells bad...Most browned guns were either over 100 years old or repros what brand and model of gun is it ? think of finish as if all bright deep blue =100% with any scratches or wear then it is less then 100% 50 % is half of the barrel etc is blue and half is either brown or grey or shiny. 0
