Ithica Featherweight 16-gauge
My father in his teens used an Ithica Featherweight 16-gauge shotgun to hunt. This would have been during the 1920s to 1930s. He still
owns this gun and it is beautiful and in excellant condition. There are a couple of scratches on the butt but these could be easily rubbed out with polish. The part of the gun that holds the shells has engraving on either side of ducks taking flight over a marsh. I would like to know what this shotgun is worth as there is a friend of my father's who very much would like to have the shotgun in trade for doing work around the house. I know very little about rifles and guns but told my father I would make inquiries.

P.S. His great grandparents immigrated from Scottland to New York where they lived for many years. Perhaps the rifle was purchased by later generations in New York. I have no idea. One of the numbers on the gun is 245459. Perhaps this would provide more accurate information of the date of manufacuture.

Janet your Ithica Feather Weight is just like the one my grandpa had. I now own it and wouldn't trade it for the world. The shotgun is light hence it's feather weight designation. The 16ga. is an odd but not rare shell. The value depending on options and condition would be between $300 and $400. Lower if in poor or fair condition. BTW these are nice to shoot as one can hold the trigger down and pump the action into a furry of shots. Hope this helps.[8D]

I have the same gun as well as several other Ithaca's. Here in Upstate NY closer to Ithaca your looking at $300-400 . There isnt a premium for the caliber as I remember. These have regional value so yours may be a little less if out West . 0
