mauser { geha} 16 guage shotgun

has anyone heard of a mauser { geha } shotgun 16ga,,havent seen it yet,,but am going to look at tomorrow,,was wondering what price range they run,,I know condition is everything,,just need an idea,,,thanks

    Be advised that they were made after the First World War from reworked Model 98 Mauser, 8mm Military rifles.

    The bolt face is removeable, if you wind up buying it be sure the bolt is complete.

    Many were imported and sold into the U.S. as inexpensive utility shotguns in the 20's.

    To the best of my knowledge, there's no great collectors demand/value for these converted military rifles other then as Firearms Curiosa.

    I had one years ago. It was,as rufe-snow stated, a reworked Mauser rifle. It was sloppy loose, like Dale Jr. Got rid of it as fast as I could![:D]

    There's a really informative article about these shotguns in the book Bolt Action Rifles by Frank de Haas.
    Many you see have the front part of the bolt missing, as they are prone to fall off and get lost.

    I lost this part once but back-tracked and found it luckily.

    I've seen a couple at shows priced around $250, but as a shooter or wall hanger I'd say they're worth around $75 to $100.

    I.SHUT IS RIGH ON, THE ONLY THING HOLDING THE BOLT HEAD ON IS THE SPRING TENSION FROM THE EXTRACTOR (AND COUPLE OF GOOD INTENSIONS). THEY ARE INTERESTING THOUGH (I'VE GOT A 16 GA.) AND ARE SAFE TO SHOOT. THEY ARE NOTED FOR TIGHT PATTERNS AND ARE PRIZED FOR 'TURKEY SHOOTS'. $100.00 +- IS ALL THEY ARE WORTH.
