It is very easy to cast your own, and cheap too. I have been shooting them for 30 years and really enjoy the whole process from scrounging lead to punchin' paper.0 -

I get mine from Oregon Trail, Baker City Oregon. They have a website and a tollfree telephone number, but I don't have either of them with me right now, but a search engine will readily find it. 0 -
I use wheel weights to make 30 cal rifles bullets. I use a Lee 2 cavity 160 gr, .312" tumble lube. I use a Lee .311" sizer and put a gas check on them for .303 Enfield. I use the same bullet with a .309" sizer for .308, .30-06, .30-30. etc. These work well up to about 1600 fps. I also drop the hot bullet into water to harden it. 0 -
When I was casting .30 caliber bullets for rifles, I usually used linotype and gas-checked 'em. If anyone plans to follow Peary's suggestion on the water - it helps, but be DAMN sure not to get any moisture in the mold or lead pot to avoid an explosive discharge of molten lead when the water is instantly vaporized by the intense heat.

Thanks. I plan to shoot the 30 cal excusive in the 308. Is there a bullet mold made for this caliber, or just pick any 30 cal. and go with it. Thanks again for all the input. 0
