settle an Estate need value of 3 old guns
A friend as asked me if I would help him find a round about value of three guns left to him from his father. He needs to settle the estate with his sisters. He must come up with a value of some kind. I do not know the condition of these items nor have I seen them. He is not selling these he is keeping them in his family. He know nothing about guns. So this is the info he has given me.
1- handgun- carl walther waffenfabrik zella-mehlis I selbstlade - pistole Cal 7.65 Walthers patent- serial # 214151
2- shotgun- browning light twelve automatic - made in belguim serial number L 20052
3- handgun 22 caliber Iver Johnson's Arms & Cycle Works - Fitchburg Mass USA serial # E 39086

Your going to have problems priceing this Walther. This was the slide legend used on a number of different Walther models after the First World War till approximately the late 1920's. We are going to have to have the specific model and condition.

Iowa said that this is all the information he has. So, we will have to do the best we can with what little we have.
My estimate:
#1 - $200
#2 - $200
#3 - $0
They may be in mint condition, they may be valuable items, or they may be rusted relics. We just don't know. Until Iowa can post photos, my estimate is as good (or bad) as anyone else's.

I gave you all of the information I could find on the gun - but I did find a handwritten note by my dad that says it is a 32 cal. automatic 8 shot Wather - Model(4) 1910-1918
I would say the condition of the gun is average - it shows some wear and tear0 -

The Model 4 is the most common Walther made during and after W W 1. It has been estimated that hundreds of thounsands were made between 1915 & 1925+. The pistol your inquiring about wasn't used by the W W I German Military, ( More $$$ ), it was made after 1919 as the slide legend was changed at that point to "Zella-Mehlis". In the condition you describe, my 2? is that it would be worth between $200 & $300.0 -

if the iver johnson 22 with the E letter code is one the sidewinder model manufactured between 1961 and 1978 the value would be between $75 and $100 for one in average condition. unless it has adjustable sights and dual 22 magnum cylinder then you would need to add another $75 to it.
