winchester 94 DOM please.

I have recently inheirited an old 30-30 the serial # is 4002xxx can anyone tell me how old this thing is? thanks to all who respond.

If you can't run with the BIG DOGS stay on the porch!!

    Hello jar...

    Please tell me exactly what the serial number really is... if it truely is in the 4 million+ serial range, it is not very old at all (manufactured circa 1974).

    The dates of manufacture listed on that site are horribly inaccurate for most Winchester firearms[V]. I have made this same statement at least 2.71 times per month!
