SKS Bring Backs without papers
I just inventoried an estate collection of firearms. Several SKS rifles and one German pistol were tagged by the deceased as bring backs, but no papers have been found to date. The question is: would a Chinese SKS brought back from Viet Nam and no papers to substantiate it have a higher dollar value than other SKS rifles?

Maybe, but a buyer willing to pay a premium will be hard to find.
Most SKS rifles in the US are arsenal rebuilt, & those with original finish are collectible & go for a premium, maybe $100-200. I suspect yours might bring the same premium. The problem is, there are probably only a handful of folks who collect these.
As with all other unusual items, all you do is start your price high & be willing to lower it until you find a customer.

I had one a long time ago, and sold it on Gunbroker. Seems to me it brought a good deal more than the importer-marked rifles.

Chinese SKS's are being actively collected, because their are so many variations. There are some excellent resources on the net that Chinese SKS collectors have contributed to.
