Need some help with a Super Redhawk Alaskan
Just picked this puppy up. My question for you is....
1. Is the front sight interchangable? It doesn't look like it, however I have heard of Ruger putting on a spring held front sight in the past. I have tried to play with mine, but am unwilling to "put some a$$ in it as I don't want to force anything.
2. Has anyone seen a combination grip screw/lanyard loop. The Hogue gripsare sweet, except for the fact that I want to replace the screw. I need one due to the amount that tis baby will spend in a chest rig while wading the rivers up here, as well as crawling on my belly with the bow. Somebody has to make one, I'm just not sure where to look. No luck at Midway, and I can't find anything at Brownells(although I may be looking in the wrong spot).
I've got another thread going on this same rig in reloading if you frequent that board as well, if you reload .454

since the gun has only been on the market for about a year i really doubt if there are alot of them out there but looking at Rugers web site i found the following for you
it looks like the front sight on this gun is a pinned on ramp sight , so yes IF you can find a different ramp you could change it out , but IT IS NOT going to be easy like on the Super Redhawks where you just push in the spring loaded botton and slip the sight out to the side ,,
as far as different grips don't know don't care , take it and have a set of custom grips made

I have looked on their site, too. True all of the pics show a pin on for the site, but on the gun there is no pin. I have even looked at it under a magnifying glass.
Anyway I wasn't trying to flame anyone, so sorry if it came out that way. Talked to some gunsmiths around here and I apparently know more than they do. Thanks for the input.0
