Buckmark Dry Firing

Can a late model Browning Buckmark be dry fired to relieve spring tension during storage without damage? I've read that many of the new rimfires block the firing pin on an empty chamber. Short of calling Browning come Monday any one have a definitive answer?

  Place a spent case in the chamber and dry fire it, or buy a 22 snap cap. That is how I do it on mine.

  use a snap cap or spent cartridge, if you dry fire it the firing pin will hit the edge of the chamber causing an indentation and possibly small burrs to form around the edge of the chamber and/or firing pin.
