Ruger International 10/22?

I've got one of these (in stainless) that I bought a few years ago and was stunned when an old friend said he had never seen or heard of these before. He owns several Rugers and if anyone had seen one I'd expect it to be him. Are these rare? Is Ruger making them anymore?

  Ruger no longer makes the RSI 10/22/ I think 2003 was the last year. VGUN1

  Yeah, I checked the latest catalog and website, no sign of it.
