1911 double action conversion
Has anyone heard of a kit for the 1911 .45acp that is called the double ace? My dad had one in his 1911, it allowed the gun to be carried with the hammer in the "half cocked" position and by squeezing the grip safety the hammer rolled back to the cocked position and ready to fire. Not a true double action I suppose but it was pretty slick. I have looked all over and can't find anything on this item. Any help would be awesome!

THe one you were talking about with the safety worked fine but because it looked like a normal safety the maker Austin BEHLERT Of NJ took it off the market in fear someone would not knowing how it worked have a ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE
EDITYes I did not intend for any one to think I was speaking about THE UNIT made in CA.CARAVILLE ARMS I was speaking about the one you could not tell from the outside it only worked buy thumbing the safety NOTHING to do with the back of the grip frame.or grip safety0 -
Caraville Arms was in California; I do not believe that Behlert manufactured the units. There was a NRA Dope Bag evaluation of the product in 1971. 0 -
