single action history

A gunsmith told me I could call colt and find out the history of my single action 45. He said they could tell me where and when it was shipped and possibly who orignally bought it. The only problem is he couldnt find the number to call or address to write to. Does anyone know how to find out more about the gun.

  Hello be prepared for sticker shock the price has gone up for this information. If the gun is all orginal it will increase its value to have a factory letter but if it has had parts changed or refinished the letter is of little value.

  Thanks for the number. I have called Colt and they are sending a packet with prices and info from the archive department.
