gunsmith?????

I have an old Ithaca/Lefever 20 ga nitro special sxs that is in exc. condition,but is short chambered. (2 1/2". I would like to know if i could have the chamber lengthened to 2 3/4" and safely shoot 2 3/4" high brass ammo in it.Appreciate any info. Thanks.

  Old SS , Kent ammo and www.armusa-performance.com are offering the 2 1/2" shells now. I'm not sure if the 20ga is available yet, but you can email a request to Armusa. As far as cutting the chambers, Ed Arrighi at Armusa could point you in the right direction too, tell him Trap sent ya!
