38 Colt Lighting

Have Colt Lighting, serial #6, not in the greatest shape, anyone know what it might be worth? It dosen't cock and has some discoloration.

  I presume you are referring to the Colt Model 1877. If in fact the serial number is a single digit-it may command a premium to collectors.
  Strong original condition is every thing. Typically the Lightning must be in excellent shape, capable of function in both modes to acheive any price. A Colt collector *may* pay a premium for a first
  day of manufacture. The 1877 was a terrible first double action pistol. Yes, I own a few-but with condition. You can perhaps purchase a Colt letter-not all 1877's are documented. If you post good pictures
  and fully describe the exterior condition plus internal condition-barrel length-blue or nickel-stocks (grips) I or another will help you. Welcome-101
