Red Dot Scope
Does anyone know who makes a red dot pistol scope that will withstand the recoil of a smith and wesson 500. I put a cheap one on this gun to check it out. It done well with factory loads, but when I put the big 400 grn reload in, the recoil shattered both ends of the glass. please help.

I have never used or tried a red dot scope. I have recently purchased a 9 mm carbine just for fun shooting. My boys love shooting it. I was thinking about getting a red dot scope for it in an attempt to spice up the fun of shooting the thing. Any tips on getting/choosing a red dot? Is it worth getting for a carbine? 0 -

I've used a Tasco ProPoint II for shooting silhouette for seven years, and I really like it. I also have a Leupold/Gilmore on a 30-30 Carbine, a BSA on a Nylon66, another ProPoint on an SKS, and another on a Ruger GP100. Then there's the S&W 2206; that wears a holosight.
You didn't say what action type your handgun has, so maybe a search of available mounts would be time better spent. Lots of autos don't have mounts made for them yet, and some of those B-Square ones are shoddy, shaky and loose.
