    CZ perhaps? Marlin makes really accurate .22's also, no I'm not kidding[8D]

    The competition has made the manufacturers work to improve or else their stuff sits on the rack. As Kingjoey said, the CZ 452, Marlin, the newer Savage. Another one to look for is the Baikal Biathlon (supposed to be a real shooter) and of all things the Romanian training .22 for $60 to 70.

    The CZ 22 rifles shoot like an Anschutz but without the price. If you want a bolt action thats the way to go.

    My vote is for CZ 452 American or wait a couple of months and buy the new 453. The 453 American will have the single set trigger from their center fire line.

    I have 2 CZ's all extremely accurate and well made...and fairly priced. There is even a drop in trigger spring and sear shim kit available if you want to turn it into a BR rifle. Go to a silhouette match and see how many are shooting CZ's.

    I have one of these and have been very impressed with the accuracy of it. For the money I think they are very hard to beat.

    I have about 8 22LR Rifles. Accuracy is excellent with my Marlin 25n. The most accurate are a Winchester 75 and a Browning auto. Though the 25N is by now discontinued you can trust on any current Marlin model as long as it has the Microgroove rifling or get any other on GB. Luck

    For a new purchase, I agree with the choice of a CZ 452. My friend has 3 in his family, and all are outstanding rifles.

    I have bought the following used over the past 2 years that are very accurate. I consider a rifle accurate if I can shoot a 5 shot group at 50 yards the size of a quarter or less. All of these will do that. The 580, 541-s and the Anschutz will each group about the size of a dime with ammo they like.
    Under $100
    Marlin Model 60 for $49
    Romanian Training Rifle Model 69 $59
    Remington 510 $75
    Remington 580 $95
    Over $100
    Savage Anschutz Model 141 $125
    Remington 541-s $250 with Leupold 3-9 Scope
    Browning 22 Lever Action $185
    Good buys in accurate .22's can still be found. They aren't always the prettiest nor the most modern, but some inexpensive used guns are real shooters. Keep looking, one day you'll find the right one.

    I bought a Ruger 77/22 a couple years ago.Shoots under a dime all day long at 50 yards. I believe it would do better then that with a quality scope and a bit of tuning.

    To be honest a Ruger 10/22 carbine has impressed me very deep with the accuracy just out the box.
