    Welcome to the forum NFields. Well remove the forearm and barrel assy. from the frame. on the water table you will find info stamped into the flat. We will need that. Measure the barrels, on the bottom side you may see "Full" Mod." "Cyl" stamped on the chamber end. Describe the condition, any rust, pits, look into the barrels, (after removal) are the bores bright and shiney? Describe the wood stocks. In other words everything that you see. A picture or two would be fantastic. The serial number in this fashion 12xxx or 123xxx. that way it can be dated. Regards Dave

    I removed the barrel assembly as suggested and have these numbers for you...on the table is the greek A. Beside that letter is HT/A, then the number 3 to the 7th power. On the barrel lug face is the number 12. The barrel measures 34" is blue and says Parker Bros.Makers.Meriden, CT. U.S.A. Acme Steel. It has a beavertail forend and vent rib. Loads of engraving on receiver with a pigeon or dove on the bottom. All wood is scratchless and tiger striped with an engraved plate that says H.E.T. jr. He, or whomever added recoil material to lengthen pull. Also, other letters/numbers of importance are C,(i assume grade), serial number 20xxxx, then the number 4. Any additional info is appreciated.

    Afternoon and welcome NFields,
    From your description you have a S.A. Grade-Parker referred to as Quality-Trap Gun. There were five different "quality" traps made.
    The number 3 to the 7th power is the weight of the barrel less
    the wood and attaching iron. The 7 would *usually* be underlined.
    The frame size is stamped on the barrel lug-expressed in a number
    or a number and a fraction. The number 12 does not compute. Possibly
    a 1 1/2? The chokes varied but were never stamped as only winchesters
    described. You will need to measure the constriction but typically
    equated to full or a tight full. All had auto ejectors. A 34" tube is
    quite rare. Most were 30" or 32". The "A" is the grade/quality. It appears your gun has all factory options. A factory pad was available.
    For a full appraisal you will need to describe the lock up of barrel to frame, strong percent of case colors on the frame, strong percent of
    original blue on barrel and trigger guard, sharpness of engraving, strong percent of original walnut finish, etc. If you wish to mail me through my profile the complete serial number, I likely will have the particulars in my data base. Best of luck, 101
