RE: Win. .32 WS cartridge
For all of the responders to my initial posted question...Thank You for the time and sharing of this info.
I've been able to determine from several souces, including this one, that the very 1st. Winchester Model 94 was shipped from the factory and field tested on October, 15, 1901...this particular rifle is posted for sale on another site w/ documentation authenicating it. Also, general producttion of this caliber for the model 94 commenced in the spring (June ????) of 1902.
And specifically for Bert H, .....be assured your theories are confirmed about parts remaining in bins for sometimes several yrs. The 94 Tkdwn. I purchased w/ the s/n that indicates it's mfg. date of 1898 was RECEIVED into the factory on Feburary 5, 1902 and SHIPPED Feburary 14, 1902, the Cody Museum Letter confirms the configuration of the rifle I purchased.
