Iver Johnson Champion, .44 centerfire
I recently acquired this gun. I am looking for amunition and any information on value or the gun. I have researched several places and I have nowwhere else to go. Thank you for any information that you can give me.

Mt Database is showing the CHAMPION as being a .22, 8 shot Single Action, Top Break Target Pistol.....
and the Only .44 calibers were in .44 Magnum and that was in the Cattleman Series.. and No .44 caliber other than the Magnum....Can you Post a Photo so that I/We can ascertain just what it is that You have...This Forum will go the extra Mile to help You with Your dilemma........best.....

the champion single barrel shotguns marked 44 cal. are chambered for the 44 winchester centerfire SHOT cartridge. this round is no longer manufactured. do not attempt to fire modern 44 caliber rifle or revolver ammo in this shotgun.
these shotguns were manufactured around 1913 before the 410 bore shells were available. after the 410 bore became available in the champion shotguns (about 1916) many of these 44 cal shotguns were rebored for the 410 2 1/2 inch shell and i have even seen some rebored again for the 3 inch shells. it is a very good idea to only shoot standard velocity 2 1/2 inch shells in any of these rebored guns.
