OLD rifle!!??

Think it's a mauser not sure. It's a bolt action single shot, paper cart. percusion cap. Never heard of such a weapon, but again I really don't know very much. Cal. might be .54 or 11mm. Is there any value to such a rifle? Think it was military.

Of course I'm out of my mind. It's dark and scary in there.

  Likely either a Dreyse or a Chassepot. There is a fine identification tutorial over on Keith Doyon's Military Rifles in the Age of Transition. It has a key search and good pictures along with historical notes.

  To my Knowledge the MAUSER BROTHERS never made a percussion Rifle...You need to post a Photo.......
