Jennings Nine

Just purchased a jennings nine, for almost nothing, any info on this gun, I am not too impressed with the gun, have not fired it, took it apart and back together, that was fun! Let me know what you think,

    Need help to disassemble a Jennings Nine. The take down button on side push's in but slide will not come off, something has got it jammed. The guy that gave me this piece of crap told me that he may have put it back together wrong. Any Ideas??? Help!!! Thanks..

    Well some would suggest that you just keep firing it and let it fly off on its own. Others would tell you to use it for a boat anchor. I found this info form a previous forum topic, hope it helps, if not then its ANCHOR TIME!

    Looking at the firearm from the rear you will see a circular button on the back of the slide. Push that in with a pencil and you will be able to lift the rear of the slide free from the frame. Remove the slide forward.

    Of course, this is using an unloaded firearm with the magazine removed.

    My only advice about Jennings is Don't Ever Touch Them. They are cheap. They are Evil. They cannot be trusted new out of the box, much less used.

    Remember that as you push in on the circular pin, it has a spring behind it, and will eject itself with considerable force. Wrap it in a towel before pushing the pin.

    A plasma cutter should make quick work of the disassembly, and I promise it won't hurt the value of the gun...

    On a Jennings Nine the takedown button is on the side not the rear. [:)]

    First of all , The "take down" is on the rear of the slide , Not on the side of the gun ... these have a habit of having a burr (from the factory) that makes them very hard to take down ..Or you may have the firing pin in backwards , this makes it impossable to disassemble by regular means ...& we have sold several of these , with very few problems or complaints , regaurdless what some may say , these are o.k. as plinkers (tackle box guns, ect.)...Not colts or smiths and not as near as costly either ,,, If you have further problems m contact us , we do " smithing " on these ( as well as others ) at very reasonable rates ...

    You are talking about a different model ,not a Jennings Nine,These guns had fully adj. sights,Loaded Chamber Indicator and Cocking Indicator.

    I just talked to one of my customers that had one and he said yes it had a side mounted take down latch or button not the rear take down like the model 59 or the J22 or the J25.

    I sold (Sorry to say) about a dozen of the clunkers.back around 1999.
