colt single action
Is there any way to tell the difference between a 2nd generation and 3rd generation gun. I know next to nothing about colt's and one of my staff members has one her late husband left her. It has patent dates of 1972 - 1973 on the frame under the cylinder. Thanks for any informationl.

I recently inherited two colt pistols. One is a Colt single action serial number 184349. This one is in great condition, I'd say around 90% and very tight. All the numbers match. The other is a Colt double action serial number 35348. It is also in very good shape and the numbers match. I know they are worth a lot but can someone give me a ballpark figure. 0 -
Hello your single action was made 1899 if 90 % it would be much better than most of this time frame We would need much more information and pictures to even come close . sorry but as the value goes up the need for a hands on becomes more of the only true way to get a value. 0 -
You asked for ballpark. Think $2000 up for the Colt Single Action described as 90% and all original. Could be a lot more depending on details per perry reply. Need more info on the 'double action' as there are many models, calibers etc of Colt double action revolvers. 0
