1300 XTR Winchester 12 Gauge
I want to buy a barrel for my 1300XTR. I found one 28 inch, comes with modified winchoke. They sell a full choke, discription is as follows."""" Winchoke High Density X full Extended""". Is this just a full choke or what. I already have a barrel for skeet. I am in the market for a 28" full choke barrel. Can someone explain what the hell this discription of this barrel is. HIGH DENSITY, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

it means extra full choke, check brownells catalog for chokes, they go from cylinder to turkey (xx full) with 6 stops in between. 0 -
check your skeet barrel. is it stamped skeet on the barrel on the side by the winchester logo area, or does it have a screw in choke setup? if you have the tube set up you can just buy more tubes and interchange them.
winchester had two types of choke tubes in the winchoke. one is the flush type. they are even to the end of the barrel when installed. if you look in the end of the barrel on the flush type you should see 4 cuts all 90 degrees apart. that is what you slide the wrench into to remove them.
on the second type they extend about 1/4 inch past the end of the barrel. they have knurled, checkered band. you should be able to read the choke size also, skeet im mod or full, are the most common. they have two holes in the checkered ring that a spanner wrench fits into to take in and out.
also to answer your question x full is for extra full choke, the extended is for extended beyond the barrel usually from 1/2 inch to two inches.

The regular winchoke dissapears into the barrel - with only a 5mm sleve visible and to fasten the choke with the wrench.
The Extended choke you're looking at, extends the barrel about 2" or so. It's about twice as long as a regular Winchoke.
"X Full" is Extra Full - that means it's even tighter than a Full-choke.
