UMC vs. Remington
What year did UMC and Remington come together? I have boxes or ammunition from before and after.

Remington has sold UMC label ammo for as long as I can remember. It's basically their budget practice ammo.

Per the Remington web-site, Union Metalic Cartridge Co. of Bridgeport and Remington Arms Company combined into one company and became Remington UMC in 1912. 0 -

The Union Metallic Cartridge Company was an independently owned ammunition company from 1867 until 1911.
In 1911 the UMC combined with Remington to become the Remington-UMC company. Remington-UMC were a viable entity from 1911 until 1934. In 1934 DuPont bought-out both Remington-UMC and Peters to form the Remington Arms Company as it stands today. UMC still offers their own brand of ammo(s) for Remington Arms.
The partent company that started the above chain was the E. Remingtion Company which was viable from 1870 until 1890.

good afternoon all,
just checked my model 10 pump. the butt says umc but barell stamped remington, sn 2536xx. it is a shooter, you should see expressions when i drag it out of the truck for a goose shoot. most think it is an ithaca 37.
