SKS Bolt
Today I took an SKS rifle I just bought to the range. After firing about 30 rounds through it, the bolt would no longer move. I seems like the bolt is stuck. Someone told me that the receiver may be cracked?

That may be. I hope you were able to get the round out of the bore, if there is a live one there. You can go ahead aand drop the magazine bottom and remove any live ones therein.
Then, if you are not familiar and experienced, the only answer is to go to someone who is. A real gunsmith, of course, is the best answer.
If the bolt is stuck in the back position, and there is a live round in the chamber that you were not able to remove, stuff a rag in the receiver adequate to prevent the bolt flying forward should it come loose. Don't attempt to fire the rifle again after this malfunction until you have it checked out and repaired.

I think the key here is for you to BE SAFE and HONESTLY evaluate your experience here. Some SKS's are basically filthy when you get them. It may not be 'dirt' or 'fouling', but dried grease and grit-sht. That may be the problem, even though these things were made 'loose' to shoot under 'dirty' conditions....there is a limit to this depending on the gun part.
If there is NOT a round stuck in the chamber, you can empty the gun and do as you wish. Since you are writing for advice, if you DO have a round in the chamber, take precautions to carefully bring it to someone with more experience.

I got it. It was stuck in the forward position and there was an empty casing in the breech. It must not have blown back properly. But I still do not understand why the bolt would not move. 0 -
How did you get the bolt to come back? Was the case stuck in the chamber? 0
