Low Wall accuracy

I have a lovely Miracou-made, high-grade, Winchester 1885 Low Wall 22 rifle that just won't shoot. Most groups are in the 1 1/2" to 2" area at 50-yds when shot from bags on a bench. The rifle is fitted with Burris scope mounts, and I've used 2 different scopes on it, a B&L Elite 4-12X and a Simmons 6.5-20X. The barrel floats on these rifles, so bedding shouldn't be a problem. The scope mounts are tight and set in Loctite. I've given the rifle a trigger job so let off is at a crisp 2 lbs. I've tried Remington Golden Bullet bulk ammo, Remington Sub Sonic, CCI Green Tag, Federal Ultra Match Subsonic, Fiocchi Super Match 320, Winchester Supreme Match, and Eley Biathlon Match in it, and although the Federals shoot a little closer - about 3/4", it's still not very encouraging. Any ideas? It's a fancy little rifle that I bought new, and I'd hate to chuck it before going through a bit of agony to see if it can be persuaded to shoot decently.

When you say you bought it new, I assume that means in the last two to five years. So I'd say that you should contact the manufacturer and ask them what the expected accuracy should be, in their opinion. If you bought it new, then they should be willing to help out if it really isn't preforming to spec. They won't want bad word of mouth to get around. It may just be a picky barrel, and as such they may be willing to replace it. Most custom rifles are bought with this in the contract and many semi production rifles as well. A "classic" Model 70 winchester that I bought new, which wouldn't shoot, was replaced with no complaint by winchester some 10yrs ago. 0 -
I agree with ern98... contact Winchester. That rifle should shoot them in the same hole with high quality match grade ammo.
