Remington 700

I have a Remington 700 sps tactical chambered in .308. Does anyone make a detachable magazind system for ths and any comments on the quality. Thanks

    I was at a gun shop today and was looking at a remington 700. It was a BDL in 270. It was totally parkerized and appeared to have a mcmillan (or similiar) stock with a cheek piece. Was this a special model or is it just customized aftermarket. What would you think is a good price for this given it is in decent condition.(handling marks but no rust or damage)I have not seen a gun like this before.


    Any info would be great

    The finish used on Remington's is a type of polyurethane (a plastic). Anything that will melt plastic--acetone, furniture finish remover, etc.--will do the job. Some work faster than others. It is not an easy finish to remove unless yu have a soaking tank and are in no hurry. I have used Formby's finish remover, acetone, and others with success before. Just be sure to used a good grade of industrial strength rubber or latex gloves designed for that purpose as these solvents can be very harmful to your health. They will also desolved ordinary cleaning gloves. Use them in a well ventilated area also.

    Check at an auto parts,or paint supply store.There are strippers on the market that are formulated for automotive finishes.I've used them on stocks before and have had excellent results.

    add a bit of steel wool to the stripper and the finish will come off cleanly with no gouges[;)]. Rubber dishwashing gloves will work.

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
