High Standard Revolvers

I am not all that familar with this configuration by that manufacturer. Are they still made? Quality of the revolvers?

I see thy have many semi autos but I know virtually nothing about the revolvers. What can you tell me? Thanks.

    Is the quality of them equal to the High Standard semi autos? I'm thinking about a Double Nine for plinking, but I haven't heard nearly as much bragging about the revolvers.

    I have a Supermatic Tournament and the trigger and accuracy are plenty sweet.

    revolvers were discontinued in 81. they are sleepers coming of age today. though not known for quality, they did have some unique options making them pretty, affordable, and desirable. they came in 2 cal's, 22LR and 22Mag.
    a limited production of 44 mag, 45 LC were offered in the crusader model. a line of 357's was made by dan wesson for hi std called the mk2. i have one and they are good quality. again... sleepers. hi std even made black powder guns. they were very nice guns and very collectible.
    once people find out how good they are, they will be scooped up fast.

    Yea, the histandard revolvers were dan wesson designs made on contract for dan wesson before dan wesson had their own mfg facility back in the early 70's. They later mfg'd them for their own line of products but not for very long and didn't have the interchangeable barrels like dan wessons.

    I have a trapper friend in Louisiana who used a Histandard 9 shot 22 mag to dispatch alligators .He kept it in his boat for 25 years,never cleaned it.I bought it,cleaned it and had fun with it for another 10 yrs,then sold it to a guy in Alaska who keeps it in his boat.Well made and they used to be very reasonably priced.

    dan wesson only helped make the centerfires folks. hi standard made the 22's. trust me. [:)]
