rg 22mag revoler
I am having a problem finding out what the model of my rg 22mag pistol is. I need a new hand and spring assembley but I cannot order it without a model number. Any help would be appreciated.

No. The hammer is longer and the front sight comes to more of a point. Also the grips are wood. I just found the number 68 on the frame but it does not say model next to it. I think the gun is a double action but I am not sure. 0 -

That's how you can tell it's an RG. I doubt there is anywhere to order the parts & if there is they would cost more than the gun is worth. (I doubt there have been any of them imported since 1968.) These guns are riveted together so you can't take them apart easily.
I bought one (RG 10) brand new for six dollars & it was overpriced at that.0 -
The gun was my grandfathers and I would really like to fix it if possible. I found several web sites that carry parts but without a model number it dosent do me any good. Do you know the model. 0 -

If you could post some pictures of your revolver, perhaps we could identify the model. In my reference, it shows no less then (14) different Rohm (who was the manufacturer) made, RG revolvers.

The quality of RG revolvers is too poor to spend any time or money on repairs. We gave up on them long ago at our shop. As fast as you fix one thing something else breaks. It is an exercise in futility to try to keep one working.
If it was your Grandfathers and has sentimental value then hang it on the wall or mantle,dont even think about getting any use out of it.

Thats probably the cylinder release your talking about. It MIGHT? be a Model 34. Here's a link to the GPC page for the model 34. If it's not the 34 it probably one of the other 30 series revolvers. Go through all the GPC pages and see if any of the schematics look similar to your revolver.

It looks like the model 63 but it dosent have rg on the handle. Did they make the 63 in 22mag? Also the handles look original, why dont they have the rg on them. 0 -

It is quite possible that some entrepenuer made after-market wood grips for whatever model it is that you have. I know that such grips are available for their model 21S single action.
