Rem. Mod. 51 anchor stamp ?

Picked up a Mod. 51 .380 today at an estate sale. Wondering what the significance is of the anchor stamp on the trigger guard.

The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

    This is not a navy issue this mark is on almost every P51 made . These are great pistols and is one of the few NON blowback pocket pistols .

    I have a sweet spot for the older pocket guns, and prefer to carry them as opposed to more modern designs. I really like my Savage .32's and often carry a Colt 1903 .32 hammerless. This Rem. may just be my new favorite. It seems to eat whatever I stuff into it. Still, what's the deal with the anchor ?

    Hello tapwater we both think the same on the older pocket pistols . If you ever shoot a p51 in 380 and compare with that gun that starts with the letter W and is a model PPK the Remington recoil is about half. plus it is flater . I think the marking is like the V mark is to Colt but then why don't you see it on rifles ? p51 is my favorite carry pistol.
