Bore sighters

I've considered buying a bore scope. I was wondering what type seems to be not only the most accurate but works the easiest as well. I would probably be using it mostly on .22 rimfires.[?]

    I am looking to get a laser bore sighter for rifle and shotgun. Cabela's has a few, has anyone used a bore sight with any good results? Thanks for any tips. Gordy.

    Hi Gordy, welcome to the Forums!
    If you have a solid couch and a window; you won't need a boresighter.
    Rest the rifle on the couch back, pointing outside through the window.
    Remove the bolt, and sight through the barrel at an object about 200yds away. Secure the rifle and look through your scope; move the crosshairs to be on the same object you've sighted through the barrel.
    Slip the bolt back in and go fine-tune at the range. You'll be on paper at 100yds this way, and you can make corrections after that.

    Note that this method only works for BOLT guns, although I have used a similar technique on a lever action.

    I have one by Laserlyte that is very easy to use and remarkably accurate. I even have used it to recheck sights on various guns and also to fine tune them. The Laserlyte sight is not very expensive.
