marlin 1929-30 22 lever action
hello everyone,
one more gun to check on please. this one i'm keeping, i'm just curious on a possible value other than i like it.
its a marlin 1929-30 lever action .22 cal rifle, octangional(sp?) barrel and thumb screw break down. i know it can fire short, long and long rifle 22 rounds.
it was a gift from my dad and him from his dad. its a great varmit gun (its what we always took gopher hunting).
i have noticed that the barrel has been drilled for a scope mount but it does not have one at this time and the holes are filled with set screws.
it doesnt have a serial number and i have a copy of a letter my dad got from marlin over a dozen years ago in ref to it stating that they couldnt pin down exactly when it would have been made. they also had stated a desire to have it for thier museum but we didnt want to sell it.
any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Your rifle MIGHT? be a Model 97, rather then the later Model 39. This could be the reason the Marlin folks wanted it for their museum.
My 2?. Take some quality pictures and post them to the Marlin collectors, forum.
