Hi,

I need help getting started to identify and assesss the value of the 1911 and holster shown in the pictures. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  Hello all. I purchaesed a 1911 a few years ago and I am not sure what I have. I looked up the serial number and it said that it could be a Union Switch ands Signal or a Colt. It has a Colt slide but does not say colt on the frame. On the mag release side behind the triger are the letters GHD, on the trigger guard on the fron is a W. The serial number is 1687155. There are crossed cannons on the side just forward of the hammer. There is also some writing on the frame above and forward of the serial number. I can sen pics but can't figure out how to upload them here.

  Hello I have been wrong many times BUT I don't think any one makes a pistol in that combination of frame size and slide size . Brownell's sells a Chopped frame and essex commander slide. then you can build what you are looking for.

  Para Ordnance built their 2003 and earlier "Companion" 3.5" BBL and "CCW" 4.25" BBL models on the first of these two models.
  
  I'm not sure exactly what you want. The gun, or parts.
  
  The Para CCW takes Officer magazines and has a 4.25" BBL.

  Isn't the Kimber ProCarry in those dimensions?

  This exact combination is becoming very popular nowadays, because of the more reliable cycling geometry of the "commander length" system with the recoil "compacted length", and the slightly shorter frame. It makes for a concealable reliable 1911.
  
  I have been building these specific set-ups for a while now, and highly recomend them. From the production lines mostly you won't find anything other than what posted above. The Para offering is very well made and reliable. Of course using the services of someone like "yours truly" will guarrantee the exact combination of materials and parts as you may envision them. For a price, naturally. [:D][:D][:D][8D][8D]
  
  You can always visit "Wilson Combat's" catalog and find what you are asking for in one of their models, again, for a price. [:D][}:)][;)][:0]
