springfield 45 frames

Are springfield armory frames for there 45's any good? I found a colt 70 45 slide and guts on a springfield frame and wondered if they are any good

  I have owned a couple of the Springfield's 1911's over the years. My 2? is the one with the receivers/frames marked made in Brazil are O.K.
  
  On the other hand I believe some of the receivers/frames sold back in the 80's were U.S. made. I had a Springfield .45 that I bought, that was on a "Special" sale. It WASN'T marked Brazil and the serial number had a prefix of "NM". I did a lot of heavy load shooting with it and the slide stop hole started to elongate. I sent it back to Springfield, but they said it was in spec and wouldn't replace it.

  Let me start by saying that I respect RUFE-SNOW however I believe the slide stop pin hole deforming was a result of the load not matching the recoil spring not the fault of the frame. I have seen some very good guns built on springfield frames . they are IMHO not as good as a CASPIAN frame to build a match gun on but for all around use much better then ranger charles daly essex norinko. or rock island. The only beef I have with them is they stole the name of a U.S. MILITARY maker of some of the finest small arms ever to serve our fighting men.
