bowling pin shooting with a shotgun

Anyone out there shoot bowling pins with a shotgun?
I just bought a Benelli 121 M1 with ghost sights to use for the pins and other stuff. Super gun BTY. I also bought 12ga #4 tachtical loads.
Any adivce on loads, stance, etc

    I don't know about shot, but Slugs will do a good job on a pin.

    It is better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

    I have tried both shot and slugs on bowling pin. Slugs worked the best. The shot didn't do as good.

    Did you use full power slugs or reduced loads (if there is such a thing)?

    Best longun for pins I found was a 20 ga 26" barreled 1100 with slugs.
    Next best longun was the .45ACP Marlin Camp Carbine with max. reloads.

    We shoot a side match at our steel plate pistol matches every month with shotguns. One stage is a pin table. I use PMC #5 shot game loads. You don't have to be really accurate, and they still go down hard and fast.

    If you want to join me in the club of those who have received a return shipment of lead shot to head/chest, then go ahead and shoot a bowling pin with light shot loads[}:)] That pin will bounce target load shot right off and back at you. That compressed would is far stronger than you can imagine.

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    All of the guys where I shoot use 00# buck in Rem 1100's with extended mag tubs. ghost rings and compensators to reduce the muzzle blast and keep the gun shooting flat. Aim for the center of the pin or just under center. At the speed you need to go to be competitive a slug unless it's a direct hit will require a second shot to get it off of the bench. Buck seams to give you an edge when going fast. The guys I shoot with go 4 to 5 seconds to clear the table.

    I've asked to use any number of weapons and ammo combinations at my local bowling alley and I've been categorically refused everytime. They DID let me rent some cool shoes, though.

    Guess we were lucky. The Ft. Monmouth bowling alley was very happy to
    have up take two truckloads of used, boxed pins and get rid of them
    for them. Kept us going for a long while. Mostly we shot handguns, but
    at seasons end we had a "Master Pin Blaster". Single shooters with handgun (6rds only) single shooter with longun (6 rds and only solid slug). Teams of 2 handgunners, teams 2 longun shooters, teams of one handgunner AND one longunner. A whole day shoot. Shot from standing on
    a tarp and no picking up empty brass to slow things down. At end of day, tarp and all brass was auctioned off to highest bidder. Only pins
    that left the 4 X 8 table counted. Not knockdown pins left on the table.

    Never tried a shotgun but have used an elphant rifle (470 Capstick)to shoot them.[:D]
