small hands, need carry .45ACP help

I am looking for a .45 ACP gun for concealed carry and would like to know which ones are out there for people with smaller hands. I tried the Glock 36 and it still felt like I was holding a brick. I am currently carrying a full size Springfield 1911 but it's not fun getting in and out of the car like I do for work. Any help is appreciated.

    Get a Colt Defender. 7+1 capacity and small and the lightest little .45 out there (22 1/2 oz).

    The entire idea of the .45 GAP cartridge was to permit development of a big bore auto for those who found the .45 ACP too large for their hand. Have you tried any of these? Have you read reviews in the gun magazines?

    not all 45 ACP guns are too big for my hands. I am carrying a Springfield full size 1911 right now and it fits great in my hands...just too big for getting in and out of the car 30-40 times a day. But no, I have not looked into the 45 GAP...will do.

    Hello I am confused "but being an old %####% that happens often" a colt officers model will give you both a shorter grip frame and shorter slide, but your question looked to me that you had small hands but then answered and say a 1911 is ok in the grip but too big of a gun then I note that it looks like you have a desert eagle one of the largest grip frames ever on a hand gun .??? am I missing something ?

    Para Ordanace makes a great little single stack coceal carry with a light double action trigger.[;)]

    If you like the Springfield, you might want to try a pair of Chip Mccormick slim grips. I have smaller hands and really notice a difference in the width of the frame with the smaller grips. The cost of the grips are minimal and you can find them here on GB or Ebay. Hope this helps. db

    Perry Shooter, yes I own a Desert Eagle, that is not something I carry day in and day out though. That is a "toy" for the range that I have always wanted. And my Springfield 1911 grip is alot smaller than a Glock 36 grip...it's a nice fit for me. I would carry this all the time but with it's size, concealability is not the best.
    Right now I've got it down to about 6 models to choose from:
    S&W SW99, Sig P239, Para Carry, Colt Defender, Springfield Micro Compact, and Kimber Pro CDP

    The P239 is not in your criteria, but is a good choice [.40S&W]

    The Para CCW model, with a 4.25" BBL, and the Companion, with a 3.5" BBL, are both fine.

    The Para Carry, with a 3" BBL, is not giving you that much extra compactness over the 3.5" Companion; the extra barrel length and grip [officer 7+1 vs. compact 6+1] of the Companion and CCW models is premium real estate, grip-wise, that will benefit you every time you pull the trigger.

    S&W 325PD, 21.5 ounces, 6 round capacity, OAL 7.25 inches, 45ACP cal. Excellent for concealed carry and smaller hands.
