Henri Pieper was a Belgian manufacturer of various types of sporting arms prior to the First World War. It's not clear that after the German occupation of Belgium, during that war, ( 1914-1918 ), he went back in business.

It looks like Rufe-Snow covered all bases...Pieper shows up on my database as having only manufactured only One Bolt Action .22 Rim Fire Single Shot Rifle...and its only worth $75.00 as a shooter...it might command $25.00 more to a Die Hard Single Shot Collector.....

They were mainly makers of small pocket pistols. They did make two different 22 rifles. The first being a bolt action and the other is a unique little single shot auto eject rifle.
The bolt rifle isn't worth much but the auto eject is worth $300 in excellent condidtion, if you can find a buyer. It's a weird little carbine that you pull the round knob back on the end of the bolt which locks open the action, insert a round, push the bolt hold open button, shoot, and it ejects the spent case. The weird thing is that it doesn't hold open the action after the round is fired. Kinda neat, but more weird.
I own one, and have seen a couple. I thought that my rifle didn't function properly because it didn't hold the bolt open after firing it, but the others didn't do it either.
I'm glad I stopped collecting weird little 22 rifles and have gotten rid of most of them. I kept the Pieper, one Flobert, a Geco and the Cooey's and sold everything else. Now my goal is to own every Remington 22 rifle made before I die.

Nagants' gas-sealing cartridge looks exactly like Pieper's, featuring a case that encloses the bullet and projects beyond the cylinder face to seal the barrel upon discharge. Pieper's revolver design, featuring a swing-out cylinder was apparently rather complex and considered too fragile for rough field use.
