Lee Collet Neck sizing Die????????????

I ordered a set of Dies from Lee and got the Collet neck sizing, FL Resizing, Bullet setting. In 375 H&H Just got done reloading with them and they are GREAT Collet neck die gave me .001 - .002 Neck Run out. and while seating bullets they all felt the same. Remember I am loading for a hunting rifle, not a beanch rest gun. You can buy just the collect neck sizing die separate, I think it's WELL Worth the money.

    They load excellent ammo but be sure to use Mica or graphite inside necks as lubricant. I pulled the neck off .308 case that was not lubed.

    Bob, are we talking about the same thing??? Lee says not to lube,I cant see why you would. I have loaded several rounds with out lube.

    I think we are talking about the same thing. In my case the brass must have been dirty/dry on inside of neck. It seized onto the mandrel and when I attempted to remove it from die the neck pulled off and stayed on mandrel. A friend had the same problem.. Since then, I always dip neck into Motor Mica or graphite and shake out excess and have had no further problems. A bore cleaning bristle brush dipped in dry lube works well also. I like the Collet dies. They load accurate ammo.

    OK we are talking about the same die's, I have 2 set's one in 22-250 and the new one in 375 H&H. So far No problem. All Lee stuff is gaurented for 2 years, so ifn I get one stuck I'll send it in to them to fix. Thanks for the Info.

    I had the same problem as GaBob. After I lubed the EXTERNAL cam surfaces of the neck sizer die with anti-seize, and started to dip my case necks in Mica from Midway, the problem was resolved.

    gabob, rufe-snow I think you boys ought to talk to Lee about your dies--something is wrong. I've used these collet dies since they came out and have had 0 problems with the exception of one time when I had over tightened the tension on the collet that sizes the neck. These dies are designed to work without any kind of lubricant. I have taken mine apart many times to clean and they have a finger type sleeve that slides over the neck and then up into the tapered body of the die that squeezes the neck down onto a mandrel to size it back down to specified size and the fingers then release the neck as the case is withdrawn. The amount of pressure that the fingers put on the mandrel to size the neck smaller to give a tighter grip on the bullet that is seated is adjustable by the finger adjustment on the top of the die. If this aqdjustment is too tight then you could experience problems and at the very least you will be running up chamber pressure as it will take more force to push the bullet out of the case.
