End shake: Stretch old yoke vs install new yoke?

When sending an S&W K-frame revolver back to the S&W factory, to repair end-shake, which would be the best approach, 1)To stretch the old yoke or 2)To have a new yoke installed instead? Please give your reasons for choosing one method over the other? Regardless of what S&W says, I'd like to hear from the experts here, to determine whether installing a new yoke would be the better choice in terms of longevity, over just stretching the old yoke(Or, if not? Why or why not?)? Please comment? Thanks!

    I agree with gunnut. I added Wilson shims to a Mod 36 to stop endshake. Worked fine.

    Shimming is the way to cure end-shake. Some shims and a thickness gauge are about all you need if you know how to disassemble a S&W.
