BERSA THUNDER .380??????????????
A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE IS LOOKING TO BUY HIS FIRST HAND GUN. AND NOT ALOT OF$$$$$$$$$. HE HAS BEEN LOOKING AT A BERSA THUNDER.380. WANTS IT FOR PLANKING AND HOME DEFENCE. I GAVE HIM MY 2 CENTS, BUT HE WOULD LIKE YO HEAR FROM THE EXPERTS. WHAT DA U THINK??????? THANX

The BERSA THUNDER 380 is a great gun. I own one myself. It is a very accurate gun. I have fired about 2000 rounds through mine and not a single problem. I use it for carry and home defence.
One of my friends shot it and he liked it so much he went out and bought one the next day. It is a great gun. I have heard from several gunners and gunsmith's that the BERSA THUNDER 380 is just as good or even better than a makorov.
So if i was your friend I would get a BERSA THUNER 380.
By the way mine is Duo Tone.

Your friend should look at the 6+1 Kel Tec P3AT if he has to have a .380. The .380 is not a home defense gun; only a bug of last resort. For home defense at least a 9MM and better yet a .40 S&W, or .357 would be more appropiate. 0 -
I've heard that they are pretty good guns, so it'd probably be ok. As far as a shootin gun, a 9mm will be a lot cheaper to shoot the a .380. Now this is just a suggestion if you or him wants to follow up on it, but check out an Arcus 94, 9mm. I bought one for my first handgun and its been flawless, as well as comfortable. There are a few listed on the main site that ya'll can look at.

it is a good gun but it is heavy and more of a block then a glock but it works real will and ready for this it only cost around $130

First off, aztileman, you just broke a cardinal rule here. Hi-points are a big no no here. As for the topic at hand, I have shot the firestorm .380. It's supposedly the same thing as bersa and even llama. However, if I remember right, the bersas are a little less exspensive. I can't speak about the llamas, I've never even held one. Also, for plinking it's not the cheapest but it is fun. For carry, the guy I'm going to buy mine from uses the firestorm for his carry, if that tells your friend anything(this guy knows his stuff). To the rich, everything is a neccessity. To the poor, everything is a luxury0 -
As tlen mentioned, the Kel-tec P3AT is much lighter and smaller to carry for CCW use (if desired). I also agree that the 9mm is much cheaper to shoot so if it will be shot more than carried then that choice might make sense in the long run.
I like the Bersa, but it just gets outclassed by several other .380's out there, even those in about the same price range...0 -
