Colt 22 Officers model target pistol Value?
My father is interested in finding out the value of a pistol he owns.
Here is the info he gave me:
No model number--Identified as a Colt Officer's Model .22 long rifle.
I bought it from a private owner about 1941.
With fully adjustable front and rear sights it is considered a target model.
6 inch barrel.
It is a double action model; it does not require cocking between shots, but doing so enables the shooter to be more accurate.
Grips are Colt's factory wood.
Any info you could give us would be appreciated.

sir, the officers mod. was produced for quite some time and shared serials with the army spl.and offical police. there was also an o/m special and o/m match produced post war.a popular gun that was produced for decades. the value other than an excellent shooter would be determined mainly by condition and originality.until the introduction of the python i would consider the o/m the zenith of d.a. revolvers.if you can post your serial i can give you a d.o.m. a ballpark value would be from 200-500$ 0 -

According to my Father, the serial number is 20122.
He has also asked me to be sure that I specify it is a .22 caliber.
