Marlin Model 62...30carbine

I saw one of these in the shop the other day and can't find any info or value range. It was kind of neat looking with a detachable magazine.

Were these accurate in 30carbine or did they fade away because of problems?

When were these made and what is a good price range for one in very good condition?

  The Marlin Model 62 "Levermatic" was made for a relatively short time 1963 to 69.
  
  Their value is around $300 to $400 depending on condition. My guess is the reason they didnt last long is the .30 carbine is not what many experts would consider a good stopper. The .30 carb is a somewhat underpowered cartridge when it comes to medium size game.
  
  It is interesting to note that even though this round is not considered powerful enough for some game, it was good enough to shoot enemy with in WWII, Korea and Vietnam.
  
  I dont own a model 62, but I do have other Marlins and I find them to be well made, quality guns.

  I fired one years ago that was owned by a friend. Neat little gun but has limited usefulness. Might be a good short range varmint rifle. Good plinker. Well made rifle.
