scope reccos needed
I have a NM M1A. I am ready to spend the loot to give this baby some real range. How far will she shoot? What scope would be best? Even better question is what ammo? I've read on here about non milspec "slam firing", so should I only use milspec? If so, which is most accurate over long ranges? Thanks for the help in advance.

LC match is highly regarded although some here will recommend working up your own load.
I've only heard of slam firing when the receiver isn't to spec (firing pin retraction helix). Could be something I haven't heard of. I dobelieve you are supposed to keep the load below 170 gr. to prevent damage to the action.

Handloads with 168gr. Serrias are the way to go over 300 yards. It is really the only way to taylor the ammo to your rifle. Do you hand load? 0 -
It is the Springfield National Match. Paid a pretty penny for it, but I love it. I've just seen these billed as 1,000 yard rifles and would like to take mine out to the limits. Unfortunately I live in an apartment, so handloading is out for right now. 0
