    Why did they quit making them? Is it because they expand so large?

    Be aware there are probably two versions of the
    black talon. The police version and the civilian version. And of course the police version is more lethal. This in spite of the fact that the police usually have some protection from violence by wearing body armor while working. The police also have other weapons immedately available to them as well as backup from other police officers. Plus the fact that the violent criminal is usually trying to GET AWAY from the police.

    And the civilian usually is defending him/herself from an INCOMING attack, has no other weapons available nor any backup.

    If what I just said is true, does anyone see a valid reason for the civilians to be limited to the less effective bullets?

    I have been able to find the SXT's at my local shop in the past , my wife is an LEO and I got her 5 boxes with no prob.

    Ditto on the hype from the media. It is still an expanding jacket and as such is stopped by body armor as much as any other round. From what I remember reading, Winchester found therre were a few less than favorable hits with Black Talon while hunting, so they actually improved it on rerelease as SXT rounds.

    Or you can do what I do..... say who cares and buy CorBon ammo. I have carred it for many years in all of my carry guns. Living in the country I have had to put down many deer after being hit by cars. I have made many 1 shot kills at ~10 yard range with a 9mm pistol.
