Colt gunsmiths

I have a Colt New Double Action Lightning revolver thats in exceptional condition except the cylinder detent doesnt work. I was hoping to send it to Colt but cant find any non-military or defense orienated info. Does Colt have any gunsmiths doing work on Antiques? And if so how do I contact them. I dont mind taking modern guns to the local gunsmiths but this one is special.

    If you don't find someone at Colt to help you I can give you the name of an exceptional gunsmith who can work on or build anything. He has done work on a lot of extremely high end guns. He's very reasonable and is entrusted with a number of "special" firearms.

    Colt doesn't work on guns more than a few years old; they don't even have parts for anything not currently in production. Shooter93's offer is worth looking at. Or, check the ads in the American Rifleman, the Gun List, or Shotgun News.

    Thanks for the replies. And since Gun Parts is about 3 miles down the road I think I'll take a run over and see if it's in stock. From the schematic it doesnt look like a bad job. I think I'll print the page off and take it to Ruger's Gun Shop.

    Thanks again to Trapp55. Numerich had the part and its installed and works great. It's always the things right under our noses that we forget about. Why I didnt think of Numerich (Gun Parts these days) I'll never know.

    You're lucky it was just a spring and not a timing issue. This gun is a beast to fit timing parts.
