Can you help me w/old Shotguns?
My Father in law gave me 2 old guns to sell and I have no idea what they are worth? Can ya'll help?
The first one is an old 12ga. double barrel with rabbit ears... looks like Damascus steel and the only markings on both sides say..... "S. H. Co." ? It has been refinished and reblued at some point. I would estimate it to be in fair condition?
The second one is an interesting single barrel black powder shotgun with a rabbit ear hammer and short fore-stock and long barrel with a wooden ram-rod.
The only marking on it says "H.S."???
Again.... maybe fair condition with light rust?

Really not enough information to go on...My database shows nothing with the Letters given....Maybe a photo would help in the search.....Possibly I can help You with ascertaining the Manufacturer with said photo.....best.....

If the sxs could be S.R. Co. and not S.H. It would have been made by the Folusm/Crescent Co., probably for sale by a Hardware Co. These guns were built as utility guns, and sold by the millions for $10-$12 in the early part of the century. The barrels are Damascus, and the guns were built for black powder shells. They are NOT safe with modern smokelss shells. They sell for modest prices as wall hangers, up to $250 in some markets for guns in very good condition. In fair condition, perhaps $100-$150 depending on your region and how badly someone wants it.
