Help with rifle identification/info.
I just picked up a nice commercial Mauser sporter in 30-06 but I can't find any information on it. The receiver is marked "MAUSER-WERKE A. G. Oberndorf a.N Model 2000." The barrel is marked "KRUPP SPECIAL LAUFSTAHL MADE IN W. GERMANY". On the right side of the receiver it says"PAT. ANG,". It has a fold down rear sight on the barrel with a brass dot front sight. The front sight wraps completely around the barrel at the muzzle. The stock is a medium-light color(maybe French Walnut). The bluing is a deep blue-black that looks original. The magazine floor plate has raised engraving with a stag. Any information on this gun would be greatly appreciated.

My reference notes that these rifles date to the late 60's. They were made for sale, by Mauser by another German Co., Heym GmbH. They aren't true 98 type actions as the ejector and extractor are mounted in the body of the bolt. Apparently Mauser only sold these rifles for a short period of time under their name. Their MIGHT? be some collectors interest because of this?

My 2? to have any collector value it would have to be factory original, in excellent condition, perferably with the original box and paperwork. The only thing that differentiates it from other comtemporary German hunting rifles made during that time frame, is that it has the Mauser name on it. Also they were made in limited numbers over a short time span. Couple or three years according to my reference.
The BB has them listed in the Mauser section, their priced as standard hunting rifles. $350 to $550, depending on condition.0
