anyone want to do a crono test for me?

i need to know the MV of a CCI type .38 rat shot cartridge. next time someone is doing crono work at their range, would you pop one off for me? pop a few to get a good spread of numbers to compare. thanks!!!!!!!!

    bobski..... The CCI ammo catalog lists their 38/.357 shot cartridge at 1000 fps. It uses #9 shot. This is from a 6" barrel.

    I can chrono some on my Oehler, but it may take awhile.

    thanks. btw...you know anyone or do you have a 38cal rifle you can shoot it out of to get a crono out of a longer bbl?[:)]

    I wouldn't shoot that through my chrono because they tend to start scattering stuff as soon as they clear the muzzle.

    isnt that where the crono reader is? how will it hit it?

    Most shot cartridges won't read on most chronys due to the nature of the shot "cloud"; the first few pellets might pass the "start" screen, but by the time they've traveled the 2 feet to the "exit" screen, they don't have enough signature to set it off.
    Seems you'll have to do it the old fashioned way-shoot at a measured distance, time the impact and divide by 775.
