44 Cal Shotgun

I have a single barrel shotgun chambered for 2-1/2" shells, it has 44 Cal. stamped on the barrel. On the receiver it has House-Hassen Hardware Co. Knoxville,Tn. Does anyone know the mfg. of this gun.

  probably one of the co.'s that made most of the hardware guns late 1800's-early 1900's, Iver johnson/Cresent/H&R ect.. easyest way to tell is compair parts diagrams in the big gunparts corp. book or go online to gunpartscorp.com.

  The .44 Cal marking is for an old 1890's-1900's loading of a 44-40 loaded with shot, not a .410 2-1/2. You may be able to get a 2-1/2 in the chamber but the gun was not designed to shoot them.
