Opinions on Taurus Guns

My friend is thinking of buing a Taurus handgun (not sure of the model, possibly Millennium). I don't know much about this brand so I wanted to get everyones opinion.

    Shmevy, my experience with Taurus guns has been good to excellent. I have owned several and they have all been great guns. the price is right and the warranty is for life. I had a 6" revolver that outshot my Smith 686. I think Taurus has actually gotten better over the past 10 years. Taurus gets a thumbs up here.[;)]

    Many shooters have told me about the great factory warranty service they got when their Tauri broke. My problem with that is, my Rugers, Colts, & S&Ws have never broken. Think about it.

    I have a Taurus Stainless 686 .357. I have fired at least 2000+ rounds and it is still tight and accurate. Smiths and Rugers are quality guns as well, but Taurus offers for the price an almost iriesistible deal. Luck!

    I OWN SEVERAL TAURUS HAND GUNS. EXCELLENT QUALITY GREAT WARRENTY IF YOU NEED IT. FIT AND FINISH IS SUPER FOR A GUN IN THERE PRICE RANGE. I CARRY A TAURUS PT945 AS A SECOND GUN ON MY CCW. FEEDS WELL NO JAM-UPS HITS THE MARK MOST OF THE TIME. NOT THE GUNS FAULT ITS ME. TELL YOUR FRIEND HIS MAKING A GOOD CHOICE. WAYNE AKA TWINCAM2

    Apparently the quality has improved in the last decade or so. I had a model 65 several years back that went in for repair of a bent ejector rod 3 different times. I finally traded it on a S&w 66.

    I have the Taurus 92AF. It has ate several thousand rounds of 9MM and gets cleaned whenever the mood hits and that aint often. I consider it a truck/boat/4 wheeler gun. It shoots very well, never jams and I would buy another Taurus in a heart beat.

    I have a taurus 92f 9mm. It has shot everything I every put in it. I have shot heavy loaded hollow points, to lightly loaded lead. All funciions well. I have never had a problem with it. Probable 10,000+ rounds down the barrel.

    My brother has a stainless one, same thing.

    It is better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

    I sold a lot of Taurus over the years. They make a good quality firearm. The ones in the last 15 years are very good quality.

    I've had at least one dealer I respect tell me that he was sick of dealing with Taurus because of quality control problems with their guns. (But that problem went away when Taurus guns became non-MA compliant. . .he can't sell them now even if he wanted to!).

    So that was a few years back. . .don't know if things have gotten better or not, so you can take this with a grain of salt.
